October 2015 - Wellington Diwali Festival of Lights

When: Monday 26 October (Labour Day)
Where: TSB Bank Arena & Shed 6 venues, Queens Warf, Wellington
Time: 1pm to 9.30pm

The festival included:
• 18 stalls selling diverse Indian vegetarian cuisines
• More than 20 arts, crafts, information & other diverse Indian retail stalls.

The festival also featured non-stop cultural entertainment from 1pm to 9.10pm, which included:

International:
• Performances from Mudra Creation from Maharashtra, India
• Puppet show by Puppeteer Mahipat Kavi

Local & regional performances included:
• Classical & folk acts
• Fusion acts
• Bollywood & Bhangra acts
• Bollywood fusion band

There were also workshops and presentations on Indian culture.

These cultural performances were feature across an indoor and outdoor stage(s).

The event also concluded with spectacular fireworks from the barge, by the Wellington Waterfront.
